Two weeks left to submit your event!

This is your chance to take part in York’s city-wide festival that showcases and celebrates the work of environment groups active in York.

The call for events for York Environment Festival 2026 is closing on Friday 31st July – so if you’re thinking of submitting an event or activity, now is the time!

What type of events can be part of the Festival?

We’ve had a range of events as part of previous festivals – from walks in nature to board games nights, from panels with local business leaders to creative workshops and family fairs.

If you have an idea for something that will inspire, uplift and engage more people in York to protect local nature, increase biodiversity, reflect on their environmental impact and build a more sustainable city, we want to hear it.

How do I submit my York Environment Festival event?

  1. Check out our guidelines page first – all events in the Festival must follow these guidelines. No exceptions!
  1. Prepare your idea for an event – you’ll need to know the details of whatwhenand where it is, as well as the show’s name and an overview of what attendees can expect. An outline for now is fine, you can share more details later.
  2. We also want to know what the impact of your event will be – how will it help communities in York to engage with, and understand, the environment and our impact on it?
  3. Submit your idea via the application form. We’ll be in touch before the start of the Festival to confirm the next steps.

What if I miss the deadline?

We can’t guarantee space in any printed marketing for events submitted after Friday 31st July, however we can be more flexible with adding events to our website. Please get in touch at info@yorkenvironmentfestival.org.uk and we can discuss how you might be able to get involved with the Festival.
