Castle Howard is one of Britain’s most famous historic houses and gardens, set in the heart of the Howardian Hills National Landscape in North Yorkshire, England. Home to the Howard family for over 300 years, the House was first designed in 1699 by Sir John Vanbrugh with Nicholas Hawksmoor and took more than a century to complete, becoming one of the finest examples of English Baroque architecture.
