Opened by Seebohm Rowntree in 1904, Homestead Park was York’s first, free-to-access public park. We are still working to make Homestead Park a place where everyone is welcome, where nature and community thrive, and positive visions for the future can take root and start to grow.

Some of the grass in Homestead Park is being transformed into meadow full of flowers! Join us to learn about how to do this, and help sow the seeds.
