DESCRIPTION:See and hear our most common bat species which live and feed in the grounds of the university campus. \nThe walk is easy to moderate and suitable for wheelchair users and many with mobility issues. There are steps along the route but there are alternate ramps available. There are some short parts of the walk that are slightly uphill. \nWalk organised by East Yorkshire Bat Group. \n\nLocation: meet behind the Natural Sciences Biology R block on Wentworth Way\, University of York. Woodland is as full of rich stories now as it has always been\, perennial narratives that we need…expect to be inspired and moved. \nSensory objects will be available\, providing support for neurodiverse attendees but also experience-enhancing for all attendees. \nThe Arts barge is an ongoing project to refurbish this noble old vessel as an arts space. The next part of that is the rebuilding of the wheelhouse! Any contributions will go towards this. \nThis event is suitable for ages 12+. \n

SUMMARY:Practical Conservation Volunteer
DESCRIPTION:Practical outdoor volunteer sessions in and around York. Our tasks vary from pond building to tree planting. This is a great chance to learn skills\, make friends and enjoy being outdoors whilst carrying out practical work to help improve places for people and the environment. \nWe are a friendly mixed-age group\, we are an inclusive organisation and there is no knowledge or previous experience needed for you to join in. Note: this activity is only suitable for ages 15+. \nThis event runs every Tuesday\, Wednesday and Thursday\, and during York Environment Weeks we’ll also meet on Sunday 8 September and Sunday 22 September. \nPlease email york@tcv.org.uk to tell us which sessions you are joining. \nOnce you’ve booked\, you can either meet us on-site or at the Tang Hall community centre at 9am. Our minibus can transport up to 8 volunteers to site.
